1. Welcome & Intro

  • Larisa gave a quick welcome and everyone around the table briefly introduced themselves

 

2. Review of January Minutes (and action items)

  • Minutes were reviewed
  • All actions have been completed

 

3. Review of Agenda

  • Agenda approved.

 

4, Selection of Chair

  • This will be tabled for next meeting, when hopefully there will be an even stronger resident presence.

 

5.  Neighbourhood Map of Resources (Natalie)

  • Natalie presented a draft of the map of resources in Bayshore.
  • She is open for suggestions and correction n.steele@pqchc.com.
  • It was suggested to add the full address for the main locations

 

Larisa will email the updated version to the group

6. Next steps

  • Larisa presented highlights of the previous studies and needs assessments (see attachment)
  • Larisa also presented the proposed timeline for the committee (see attachment)

 

  • The survey will need to be translated to various languages
  • The questions for the survey will be reviewed by the PQCHC Resource Committee
  • Alex Cullen’s Bayshore Buzz can be used to advertise the survey (next one is coming out in March)
  • Can capitalize on existing groups, events and activities to get more people to fill out surveys (Fun Days, booth at Bayshore Shopping Centre, school councils, etc)
  • A ‘postal walk’ can ensure that surveys get to each house
  • An incentive/prize for submitting completed surveys can help increase submissions
  • Can place drop off boxes in convenient locations
  • Can distribute surveys with note saying that it’s available in other languages
  • Can possibly use phone service of ‘language bank’ provided through Languages for Life

 

  • New name for committee is “Hand-in-Hand Bayshore
    • Motion put forward by Felix, 2nded by Todd, carried

Alex will pull out Bayshore-relevant points from Bay ward report

Larisa will email WISE audit to group

 

Abid will oversee task of translation

Ahmad and Larisa to bring a draft list of outreach tasks so that committee members can sign up for tasks at next meeting
