2. Background: Leslie McDiarmid provided a brief Historical context of CDF and the work of SEOCHC in South East Ottawa since 2004. NCLB documentary was shown to the participants. |

3. Introduction to CDF: Clara Freire described the process, which the City of Ottawa went through for developing the Community Development Framework. She explained the structure and process of the CDF.
Clara explained as to how the CDF is a different way of working, which will not discriminate or take away resources from one to other neighbourhoods. |
- It was suggested that there should be clearer terminology for the various tables in the CDF structure to avoid any confusion.
- One member recommended to refer to the Community Development Round Table as Round Table.

4. Progress to date: Abid Jan provided a quick update on the progress at the grassroots level since selection of the four areas in the City in November 2008.
Lisa Petch informed the committee members on the progress made by various systems level Tables under the CDF approach. |

Questions/Comments: Hamdi Mohamed suggested not losing focus on the other forms of social organizations, particularly the ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic lines on which most migrants organize themselves.
Suzanne Doerge suggested making sure that other communities of interest (i.e. aboriginals) also be represented and addressed. |
- It was suggested to establish a sub-group to discuss this and similar issues for making the social mobilization and community engagement more effective.

5. Discussion on the Terms of Reference for the Community Table.
A healthy discussion was followed on the roles, responsibilities and scope of the Community Table. |
- All suggested changes will be incorporated and sent to all members of the Community Table.
